“Joining Jono on his winter tasting tour of Champagne, Chablis and Burgundy was a once in a lifetime extravaganza.
Every day was another adventure, starting with a hearty breakfast at the gorgeous Hungry Cyclist Lodge, before driving out through those world famous vineyards, to meet a wine producer, welcoming us to their cellars and their wines, like old friends.
Then a stop at a warm village bistro, or a Michelin starred restaurant, for an amazing meal, and exquisite wines, tasted with the help of Jono’s brilliant nose and palate, and encyclopaedic knowledge of all things vinous. Afternoon walks, or naps, or another tasting, or stay in to play chef with our own market-sourced local ingredients, washed down with a well aged wine from our very own cellar.
We came home with memories to last a lifetime.
We said it was a once in a lifetime experience, but maybe a second go round wouldn't hurt….”
